This stainless steel iaito was developed for martial arts students and instructors who want more from their training sword than a lightweight aluminum-alloy option provides. While aluminum-alloy iaito are well suited for high-repetition forms work and extended sessions with minimal fatigue, some practitioners — particularly those at intermediate or advanced levels, or those who prefer more structural weight in their practice — find that a more substantial training sword better supports their development.

The stainless steel construction delivers that difference. It is noticeably heavier than aluminum-alloy versions, and for many practitioners the feel in hand sits meaningfully closer to a traditional steel sword — a more substantial feel through forms and draw practice, and a steadier sense of blade presence during structured training.
