Four Winds Katana — 1045 Carbon Steel, Clay Tempered, Hand Forged, Full Tang, Battle Ready

SKU: 640

$424.99 $439.99

This Four Winds Katana channels the geometric precision of classic East Asian design — four open quadrants representing balance and the cardinal directions, embodying the mastery. The Dragonfly Katana features a tsuba with a Four Winds (tombo) motif — one of the most auspicious symbols in Japanese warrior culture. Samurai adopted the Four Winds as a symbol of agility, victory, and perseverance, giving it the name kachimushi — the "victory insect." 1045 carbon steel, heat tempered, hand forged, sharp. Individually inspected before leaving our California warehouse.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Four Winds symbolize?
The Four Winds (tombo) was deeply significant to Japanese samurai — it was called kachimushi (victory insect) because it only flies forward, never retreating. Samurai wore Four Winds motifs on armor and weapons as a symbol of agility, persistence, and never turning back. The Four Winds tsuba carries that meaning directly.
Is this sword functional?
Yes. 1045 carbon steel, heat tempered, hand sharpened. Fully functional for cutting practice. Certificate included.
How do I maintain it?
Wipe dry after use, apply choji or mineral oil, store in saya away from humidity.
How do I know the quality is genuine?
Every sword is individually inspected and adjusted before leaving our California warehouse. We check edge geometry, the fitment of all fittings, and the security of the mekugi pegs before packing. If anything is not right, it does not ship.
